-“We will realize customer satisfaction based on industry-leading digital technology”

DL E&C announced on the 22nd that it won two innovation awards at the ‘2023 Smart Construction Challenge” award ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (‘MoLIT’). DL E&C is the only construction company that receives more than two innovation awards at this ceremony.

The Smart Construction Challenge is an awards ceremony organized by MoLIT for the dissemination and spread of smart construction technology. It evaluates cutting-edgy technologies that can innovate construction sites safer and more efficient in areas, including safety management, residential complexes, housing, roads, railways, and awards innovation prizes.

This year, DL E&C received innovation awards in the residential complex category with ‘D-Solution’ and in the railway category with ‘Technology for Ensuring Stability in Crane Operation Zone using Detection Sensors’.

‘D-Solution’ is a construction IT solution aimed at realizing innovation in the construction industry based on DL E&C’s own differentiated technology. It includes ‘D-Virtual’, a real-time housing visualization solution based on virtual reality (VR), ‘D-Vision’, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based digital twin quality control solution, and smart display switches.

DL E&C is applying ‘D-Solution’ to all construction phases, from the pre-construction to post-completion, by which the Company strives to prevent safety accidents, to ensure the highest quality as well as to realize customer satisfaction.

The technology for ensuring stability in crane operation zone using detection sensors was applied to the 4th section, the 2nd phase of the Honam High-Speed Railway (Gomakwon – Mokpo). It was developed to prevent accidents that may occur during repetitive lifting operation of multiple cranes.

DL E&C mounted various detection sensors, including LiDAR, on cranes and important facilities within the construction sites. This system automatically alerts surrounding workers when cranes are in operation, creating a safer working environment.

DL E&C actively leads the industry in the introduction of the latest IT technologies for quality control and safety management. The Company utilizes AI, BIM (Building Information Modelling), AR (Augmented Reality), VR, IoT (Internet of Things), and drones throughout the entire construction process. Especially in July, DL E&C was selected as a leading company in BIM among the 6 smart construction fields chosen by MoLIT, leading the innovation of the industry.

An official from DL E&C said, “We are making company-wide efforts to satisfy customers based on the best quality management philosophy and the highest digital technology in the industry. In the global market where smart construction technology is becoming more important, we will further strengthen our own knowhow and technical capabilities to enhance our competitiveness.”
