DL E&C participates in ‘project for the development of AI-based architectural design automation technology’.

DL E&C announced on the 13th that it is participate in ‘project for the development of AI-based architectural design automation technology’ being implemented by KAIA (Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement) under MoLIT (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport) to conduct research.
This is a 5-year project to introduce automation and intelligent process across the board of architectural design on the basis of AI technology. Since 2021, 15 institutions, including Yonsei University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, and Kyung Hee University Industrial and Academic Cooperation Foundation, have participated in this project as the joint R&D institutions under the auspices of the Kyungpook National University Industry-Academy Cooperation Foundation. DL E&C joined this project this year.
Aiming to innovate the architectural ecosystem, these institutions are focusing on mid- to long-term research and development including △building an intelligent design environment based on big data for planning and design, △planning an intelligent architectural design automation to improve productivity, and evaluating legality of intelligent design and developing technology for supporting architectural administrative services.
In particular, DL E&C is conducting empirical research, such as creating design plans and producing actual prototypes using intelligent design automation technology. DL E&C plans to expand the scope of demonstration for AI research projects next year.
“DL E&C has many years of knowhow and professional construction experience in implementing automated design projects.” said an official from DL E&C, “We will actively support the development of intelligent automation technology that can be practically applied to construction sites based on our knowhow and experience.”
