Mechanical Completion of the Saudi NCP Polymer Project
Daelim Industrial Co., Ltd. received the certificate of mechanical completion of the Saudi NCP Polymer project from US-based Chevron Phillips, the project owner, on January 30, 2011, just in 37 months since the conclusion of the contract on December 13, 2007. This project had started the construction on August 25, 2008, and Daelim, based on its cumulated know-how and experiences, successfully completed the world’s largest polymer plants with the production capacity of 1.7 million tons (HDPE of 550 thousand tons, LDLPE of 550 thousand tons, PP of 400 thousand tons and PS of 200 thousand tons) within the construction period. The scheduled completion date was January 31, 2011. An official of Daelim in the site said, “This successful completion gave us a sense of pride as a global company, and marked an epoch in the history of our plant business.”
