DL E&C announced on the 2nd that it signed an MOU with KT to construct a metaverse ecosystem. DL E&C’s Technology R&D Institute Director Choi Young-rak and KT Customer DX Biz Team head attended the MOU signing ceremony held at the KT company building located in Gwanghwamun, Seoul on the 1st.

DL E&C and KT decided to cooperate mutually on the development of Digital Twin in the construction field through the MOU. Digital Twin refers to actualizing things in the real world in the virtual world as they are. Both companies agreed to construct the metaverse ecosystem in the construction industry for the long term.

DL E&C showcased D. Virtual, a real-time virtual visualization solution, for the first time ever in the construction industry. The technology realizes more sophisticated graphic technology compared to the existing 3D VR. If D. Virtual is adopted in a cyber model house, consumers can see the housing interior materials, finishing materials, and furniture options in virtual spaces through real-time simulation as they desire. Housing options that can be combined through D. Virtual exceed 1 million.

DL E&C plans to use KT’s next-generation cloud streaming technology so that diverse customers can smoothly enjoy it in various device environments. As KT has the best domestic streaming technology, near-reality graphics is expected to be realized conveniently without problems such as delay.

Both companies plan to use metaverse solutions in various areas of the construction field including sales, design, construction, and quality control of apartments by constructing a more advanced Digital Twin.

“We have presented a new level of experience transcending temporal and spatial restrictions in the construction field and have continuously endeavored to provide enhanced customer service. We plan to retain the top spot in the smart construction field through active technology exchange with KT,” Research Institute Director Choi said.
