Oman SRIP Construction Site (DCU/LMU3 Unit) Achieves Mechanical Completion

 
DCU/LMU3 Unit

The Oman SRIP (Sohar Refinery Improvement Project) construction site achieved mechanical completion of DCU*/LMU3* Unit on February 22. Actually, 7 units out of a total of 8 units were completed.
 
 * DCU (Delayed Coker Unit): Process producing coke, LPG, naphtha, and gas & oil through pyrolysis of heavy oil
* LMU3 (LPG Merox Unit): Process of removing sulfur for the quality improvement of LPG

The SRIP project was ordered by Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (ORPIC). The project involves newly constructing a plant producing naphtha, gasoline, and diesel by processing crude oil and expanding the existing oil refinery. Daelim and British Petrofact will carry out the project as a joint venture. This project is a lump sum turn-key contract wherein the joint venture is responsible for design, equipment purchase, construction, and test run.
