DL E&C conducted safety training for new employees.
DL E&C announced on January 15 that it had conducted safety training for new employees who had joined the Company this year. This training was conducted at the Safety Experience School within DL Daedeok Research Institute located in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. DL E&C plans to raise the safety awareness of new employees from systematic safety training.
The new employees personally experienced the situations of falls and tripping, which frequently occur at construction sites, and practiced how to wear and use various safety equipment, including safety belt, safety helmet, safety shoes and descending life line, to prevent accidents. They also acquired the ability to respond to crises from the practices, including fire suppression, rescue method in the event of suffocation accident, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and emergency measures.
DL E&C’s Safety Experience School is equipped with various temporary structures and facilities that are actually used at construction sites, including heavy construction equipment. It also has equipment and contents that allows the trainees to experience the 5 most dangerous works at construction sites – high place, lifting (lifting heavy objects with equipment), excavation, electricity and fire – using VR. Besides, a program is prepared to introduce smart safety system combined with the 4th industry, including the latest IoT (Internet of Things), drones, big data, AI and wearable devices.
An official from DL E&C said, “Our goal is to ensure that new employees compulsorily complete safety experience training from the introductory training course in order to be familiar with the factors, that cause safety accidents at construction sites, and preventive measures, and to improve their ability to respond to crises.”
