Daelim Signs Contract to Build Brunei’s KRW 210 billion Temburong Bridge

Daelim signed on September 10, 2015 the contract to build section 3 of Temburong Bridge, one of Brunei’s state projects. The contract signing ceremony was held at the headquarters of Brunei’s Road and Traffic Authority in the capital city of Bandar Seri Begawan. The client, Bruneian Development Minister, as well as Korean Ambassador to Brunei Cho Won-myung and Daelim CEO Kim Dong-su attended the ceremony.
The Temburong Bridge project is one of the key national balanced development projects promoted by the Brunei government. The project involves connecting the Muara and Temburong areas divided by Brunei Bay. The KRW 2 trillion project is the largest bridge construction project ever in the history of Brunei and is composed of five sections. Section 3 is a project of building a cable-stayed bridge with one main tower and a cable-stayed bridge with two main towers. One main tower’s height has been designed as 107m, and that of the two other main towers, as 110.5m. Construction will take about 41 months.
Daelim distinguishes itself in the special sea bridge markets abroad. It is currently building Sungai Brunei Bridge, the largest cable-stayed bridge in Brunei. Daelim has actually succeeded in bagging the section 3 project after winning the section 2 project in February this year to build 13.65km sea bridges worth KRW 483 billion as part of the Temburong Bridge project.
