Celebrated the completion of the Korean-type flue-gas desulfurization system
A ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Korean-type flue gas desulfurization systems for Units #1 and #2 of the Boryeong Power Plant was held in Ocheon-myeon, Boryeong of South Chungcheong Province on September 16, 2010. Attending the ceremony were President Kim Yun of the Plant Business Division, Executive Director Han Gyeong-su, the president of Korea Midland Power Co., the director of the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning, the president of KEPCO Engineering and Construction and people related to this project. In the ceremony, President Kim Yun received an appreciation plaque while Manager Lim Hyeong-hun a medal of merit.
The project to build the Korean-type flue gas desulfurization systems for Units #1 and #2 of the Boryeong Power Plant is part of the Korean-type research project and applied the system to a 500MW-class thermal power station for the first time. This project opened a new chapter for the Korean-type flue gas desulfurization systems by installing one successfully while the power plant was operating. This project was a turn-key project including design, supply, construction and test operation supervision. Daelim Industrial Co., Ltd. was able to successfully complete the project without any accident despite various touch conditions such as a rise in material costs and additional work on August 3, 2010.
