Daelim succeeded in taking an order for a port construction project in Vietnam, with an expected total value of USD 138 million. The order for the Gemalink Deep-water Port Project was placed by a joint venture between Vietnam’s Gemadept Corporation and France's Terminal Link. The project is for the construction of a terminal covering 32.5 hectares and an 800-metre main wharf at Ba Ria-Vung Tau located southeast of Ho Chi Minh City.

The project is a joint venture with Samwhan. It will take 39 months to complete, from July 5, 2010, to October 4, 2013. With this project, Daelim is reentering the Vietnam market after 35 years. In the 1970s, Daelim received 20 orders from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and U.S. Navy OICC. That relationship ended with the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Vietnam in 1975. By entering Vietnam along with Singapore, Daelim's civil works division, which once focused on the domestic market, has gained a firm foothold for forays into Southeast Asia.
