Daelim’s Wondang e-Pyunhan Sesang in Goyang was recognized to provide pedestrian with much convenience.
Daelim announced that Wondang e-Pyunhan Sesang in Goyang obtained certification as ‘Barrier Free’ for the first apartment in Korea on 22 APR.
This certification is by the Korea Land & Housing Cooperation, which certifies safety buildings, built for the social weak, such as children and elderly, not to feel inconvenience in life.
There are a total of three levels of certification according to the standards, and Wondang e-Pyunhan Sesang in Goyang received the second level. The apartment was designed as ‘Think U’, which is developed by Daelim, aimed at the focus of convenience of pedestrians. There are no bumps or curbs throughout the whole area from entrance to residential buildings, common areas, playgrounds and such, all built in a horizontal structure for the children, disabled and pregnant mothers.
Also, the entire first floor is built with piloti so that residents can reach the entrance without using outside staircase or disabled ramps. Moreover, the safety and convenience of pedestrians were considered first, by making the height of the parking lot entrance and the crosswalk even with the sidewalk. Furthermore, handrails and information signs were set up inside the complex, and underground parking lots connected directly to apartments, for residents to have easy access to common areas and facilities.
Since the implication of ‘Barrier Free’ in 2007, only public buildings such as the City Hall of Daejeon, Seongbuk-Gu Government Office and Noeun-1 Residence Center received the certification. Wondang e-Pyunhan Sesang was the 9th in total, and the first private and apartment building to be certified.
