Held the Ceremony for the Completion of Supporting Facilities for the Jeju Science Park

On the 25th, the ceremony for the completion of supporting facilities for the Jeju Science Park was held at the Elite Building located in the Jeju Science Park, Ara-dong, Jeju Island. At the ceremony, more than 500 guests including President Jong-In Kim, Daelim’s officials, the Prime Minister Un-Chan Chung, the Minister of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs Jong-Hwan Chung, and Governor of Jeju Island Tae-Hwan Kim attended the meeting to celebrate the completion.
The facilities started the construction in June 2005, in which a total amount of KRW452.6 billion (public fund of KRW191.4 billion and private fund of KRW261.2 billion) has been invested. The gross area reaches 1.09 million square meters, of which industrial facilities with a total area of 417.28 thousand square meters and supporting facilities with a total area of 218.37 thousand square meters will be provided to 14 companies and other 21 companies, respectively.
The Jeju Science Park to be the Silicon Valley of Jeju is one of major six Jeju Free International City Development projects, and it was first completed. The Jeju Science Park is recognized as a strategic science technology complex to transform Jeju Island with the image of tourist attraction into the Mecca of IT and BT industries going forward.
