‘Plant Industry Meeting for improving its Competitiveness’ was held under the supervision of Choi Kyeong-Hwan, the Minister of Knowledge and Economy on last February 23.
Choi Gil-Sun, the president of Korea Plant Industries Association, the representatives from 20 plant industries companies such as STX Heavy Industries, Samsung Engineering, Hyndai Engineering & Construction and Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction headed by the president Charles Y. Kim (Director of plant div.) attended this meeting and discussed methods to substantialize winning overseas contracts which have recently increased: support for overseas plant winning contracts, improvement of foreign-exchange earning rates and so on.
In addition to the meeting, there were awards for merits to congratulate the biggest overseas winning contracts in history (46. 3 billion dollars) and to improve the morale of industries and workers. While total of 13 companies were awarded for plant export expansion merit, Lee Su-Yeon, the director of the division of Overseas Sales Team 1 of our company was awarded.
