On June 26, the company was selected as the winner of the bid, which had been applied for on June 3, to construct the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Far East District’s Family Housing Towers.
The project is to construct three 11-12 storied family housing buildings on the newly reclaimed land in Pyeongtaek City with the costs amounting to 116 billion won and construction period of 26 months.
The Family Housing Towers project is the largest construction in the Far East District’s history, and has significance in the aspect of the first step of the delayed plan to move the US Forces positioned close to the Demilitarized Zone to the south of Han River and to relocate US 2nd Infantry Division to Pyeongtaek in Gyeonggi Province.
It has been 7 years since Daelim received an order from the US Forces in Korea. The last project was 156PN Ballfield Dormitory construction in Osan US Airbase in 2002. With this project, however, the company is expected to secure competitiveness in receiving new orders for the construction of military facilities of the US Forces in Korea to be ordered by the Far East District, Ministry of National Defense, and Korea National Housing Corporation.
