Installed the Shin-Kori Nuclear Reactor Unit 2

Following the installation of Shin-Kori Unit 1 in March, Shin-Kori unit 2 was set up on Feb. 26. To celebrate the successful installation, which was 1 month earlier than the expected completion date of April 1, a ceremony was held on the day. The ceremony was attended by officials from Daelim as well as the general manager of construction and officials from Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., the client. 

The Shin-Kori unit 1 and 2, which are under construction, are the first standardized nuclear reactors which were designed exclusively by domestic technologies. Each of the dome-shaped nuclear reactors has a capacity of 1,000 MW, the weight of 350 tons, the inside diameter of 4.2m, and the height of 14.5m. And the reactor model is exported to China, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

The total contract price for the construction of the two nuclear reactors amounts to KRW853.5 billion. And 3,000 workers engage in the project daily. The construction progressed about 73 percent at the end of February and electrical construction is currently carried out.
