Won the contract for the world biggest polycarbonate production facility in Saudi Arabia.

Daelim won the contract for constructing polycarbonate production plants by EPC lump-sum turnkey base on May 4 ordered by Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company. We won the contract for engineering, procurement service and construction management in February 2007, and are now working on it. The contract was changed into EPC lump-sum turnkey base by additionally winning projects for construction materials procurement and main construction. According to this, total construction cost reaches $1.328 billion.

This project is to construct polycarbonate production facilities with a capacity of 260,000 tons per year, the world biggest polycarbonate production facility as a single plant, in Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

The construction is expected to take 38 months from February 2007 to April 2010. Compared to other petrochemical plants, the project requires more sophisticated construction capacity that reaffirms the Daelim’s capability in the petrochemical plant market in the Middle East.
