Daelim has won a $960 million contract to build a petrochemical plant in Saudi Arabia, expanding its foothold in the Middle East.

Dealim will build a polyethylene production facility in Al-Jubail, an industrial city in eastern Saudi Arabia, for Saudi Polymers Co. by April 2011.

The plant is estimated to have an annual output capacity of 550,000 tons of high density polyethylene and linear density low polyethylene, respectively.
It will also be able to produce up to 400,000 tons of polypropylene and 200,000 tons of polystyrene.

Saudi Polymers Company is a joint venture of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC and Saudi Industrial Investment Group.

Daelim is also currently constructing two more petrochemical plants in Al-Jubail.
