The dinner for the Prime Minister of Iraq, held at the Westin Chosun Hotel, on May 13, was attended by the chairman of Daelim, Yong Koo Lee, the Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, Nam Sik Hur, and prominent businessmen who have a connection in Busan.
At the meeting, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Nuri Kamal al-Maliki, asked for the support of the Mayor of Busan and the representatives of businesses to join the reconstruction of Iraq.
In response to this, the Korean companies reportedly emphasized that they have wide experience in working in the Middle East, with excellent human resources and technologies, offering Iraqi side to assist them in joining the Iraq reconstruction.
The Prime Minister expressed interest in the offer and active support for Korean companies, mentioning Iraq will offer many opportunities to Korean businesses in the construction sector, such as roads and bridges, because the country has many areas to be reconstructed.
