Daelim to build PDH Plant in Saudi Arabia
Daelim Industrial Co. has received a $658 million order, jointly with an Italian firm, to build a petrochemical complex in Saudi Arabia, on December, 2005.
Daelim and its partner Tecnimont SpA are to build respectively the Propane Dehydrogenation Plant with an annual capacity of 467,000 ton and polypropylene plant with an annual capacity of 450,000 tons in Al Jubail, eastern Saudi Arabia, for completion by 2008. The order was placed by Basell Polyolefin of Belgium and Saudi Arabia's Sahara Petrochemical Co. The complex will consist of a propane dehydrogenation plant and a polypropylene factory.
Polypropylene is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications, including food packaging, textiles, laboratory equipment and automotive components.
