DL E&C announced on the 18th that it held its ecological restoration volunteer program, “DL Builds a Forest”, at Noeul Park in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Employees from DL E&C and DL Construction, along with their family members, participated in activities to create forested areas and improve the ecological environment.

“DL Builds a Forest” is an ecological restoration initiative in which employees cultivate tree saplings themselves and take part in forest creation efforts. Since 2024, DL E&C has been working in partnership with the Noeul Park Citizens’ Association to restore urban green spaces and expand biodiversity. The initiative is now in its third year. The oak trees planted by employees will grow into part of the forest over time, contributing to a healthier ecological environment where a wide variety of plants and wildlife can thrive together.

During the event, participants planted oak saplings and removed invasive plant species throughout the Noeul Park. This year’s program was especially meaningful because it was linked to the “Growing Seed Pots” initiative, under which employees first received acorn seeds, cultivated them into saplings at home, and later transplanted them into the forest. The initiative was designed to allow employees to participate in in every stage —from nurturing seeds to creating forests— and to experience the natural cycle of growth and the value of ecological restoration.

Since the program began in 2024, DL E&C employees have cultivated and planted more than 300 saplings, all of which have been used to help restore the forests at Noeul Park. Rather than being a one-time volunteer activity, the program aims to restore life to previously neglected spaces while creating a healthier natural environment for future generations.

An employee who participated in the event commented, “It was especially meaningful to take part in growing saplings and creating a forest together with my family. Watching a small acorn grow into a tree that eventually becomes part of a forest reminded me once again of the importance of protecting nature.”

A DL E&C representative added, ““DL Builds a Forest” was designed to allow employees to directly participate in the ecological restoration process, and naturally experience the value of environment. Going forward, we will continue to contribute to building a sustainable ecological environment through a variety of ESG initiatives that employees and their families can enjoy together.”
