DL E&C announced on the 17th that it held an oak tree planting event as part of its afforestation activity to celebrate its 85th anniversary. On the afternoon of the 15th, about 50 employees gathered at Noeul Park in Mapo-gu, Seoul to plant oak trees, contributing to the restoration of Nanjido, a former landfill site, into a healthy forest.

Given that DL E&C’s former name was “Daelim” (meaning ‘Great Forest’), this activity of cultivating a ‘great forest’ by the employees added further significance to the celebration of the Company’s founding anniversary. As Korea’s oldest construction company, DL E&C stanched out to sell construction materials in October 1939 under the name of ‘Burim Trading’ near Bupyeong Station, Incheon. In 1947, the Company changed its name to ‘Daelim Industrial’ and began its construction business in earnest. In 2021, it was rebranded as DL E&C and converted to a holding company system.

As part of its environmentally conscious ESG management, DL E&C is participating in a campaign of ‘logs that grow seeds at home’. The Company has grown acorn seeds into seedlings for 100 days since February, and delivered them to the Noeul Park Citizens Group at the end of June. In the latest event, the Company planted the well-grown oak seedlings in the Noeul Park.

Sang-Shin Park, CEO of DL E&C, said, “In addition to our ongoing eco-friendly programs such as the Clean-sharing volunteer activity and Zero Paper Cup Campaign, we plan to actively promote campaigns, which enhance environmental sustainability, to expand our ESG management.”
