First shoveling heralding the beginning of construction Daelim held the groundbreaking ceremony of the S-OIL RUC project at the RUC/ODC construction site in Ulju-gun, Ulsan City on May 26, 2016.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were S-OIL’s CEO Nasser Al-Mahasher and Executive Director Kim Hyung-Bae, Daelim’s Vice Chairman Lee Hae-Wook, and Vice President Gang Young-Guk. RUC (Residue Upgrading Complex) is a facility converting residue into high value-added products like propylene and gasoline after extracting gas and light oil from crude oil. With project cost of KRW 4.8 trillion, the project is the largest ever as a single plant construction in Korea and is slated to be completed in April 2018.
