DL E&C Proposes ‘ACRO Hannam’ as the True Definition of High-End Living

- Proposing the archetype of a "rich town" that will endure beyond generations at Hannam District 5
- Focusing on timeless value and the essence of design
- Dominating Hannam New Town with 108% river-view units and 74% mid-to-large floor plans
DL E&C has once again made clear its unwavering commitment to lead high-profile redevelopment projects by submitting a solo bid on April 15 for the Hannam District 5 Housing Redevelopment Project in Yongsan-gu, Seoul—a project valued at 1.7 trillion KRW (approximately $1.2 billion USD).
Hannam District 5 spans a vast area of 141,186 square meters around 60 Dongbinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu, and will include residential buildings, officetels, and community facilities. The site even surpasses neighboring Hannam District 4 in scale, which recently selected its contractor.
DL E&C has been engaged with this district for over a decade, having been the first to express interest and build a long-standing relationship with co-op members. Leveraging this depth of experience and understanding of the area’s heritage, the company now presents a new definition of high-end living through ACRO, Korea’s leading luxury housing brand, proposing a completely reimagined residential value.
The name ACRO Hannam was strategically chosen to maximize brand value while honoring the district’s historical significance. The project is positioned to become one of Korea’s most prestigious neighborhoods.
ACRO Hannam is planned to include 2,401 apartment units and 146 studio apartments, along with a range of community amenities across 44 buildings, ranging from five basement levels to 22 floors above ground.

In this proposal, DL E&C has framed the question, “What defines true high-end living?”, and responded with a series of differentiated, luxury-focused design features. These include:
• Unparalleled panoramic views of the Han River• The highest proportion of mid-to-large floor plans and spacious interiors in Hannam New Town
• A biophilic design that invites nature deep into the city
• A timeless architectural approach that maintains its value over generations
With best-in-class construction and design, as well as refined community amenities and landscaping, ACRO Hannam aims to redefine what it means to live in a true luxury neighborhood.

▣ A New Standard in High-Value Design: 108% River Views and 74% Large-Format Units
DL E&C is redefining what it means to have a "Han River view." In total, 1,670 units—or 108% of the number of co-op households—are planned with river views, with 1,480 of those offering expansive, unobstructed “wide-view” layouts, accounting for 96% of co-op units. This far exceeds the standards of other Hannam New Town districts.
The company’s proven expertise in view-optimized layouts, seen in its past developments such as ACRO Seoul Forest and ACRO Riverview, is fully utilized here. The design includes step-terrace houses, dual-aspect panoramic units, and open community spaces, all maximizing visual connection with the Han River. At a time when river views directly impact property value, this three-dimensional approach to design ensures ACRO Hannam’s unmatched market competitiveness.
In alignment with the affluent image of Hannam-dong, DL E&C has designed up to 74% of total units as mid-to-large floor plans, ensuring that the spatial experience reflects both luxury and practicality. Unlike neighboring projects that merely carry the Hannam name but consist largely of ultra-compact units, ACRO Hannam was envisioned as a true ‘rich town’—in substance, not just in name.
The project emphasizes spacious interiors that accommodate high-end finishes and provide room for a relaxed, elevated lifestyle. This approach not only meets today’s expectations for premium living but also enhances long-term residential value.
Even as luxury housing trends evolve, the enduring appeal of wide and comfortable layouts has never changed. By embracing this timeless preference—the idea that bigger homes bring greater satisfaction—ACRO Hannam sets itself apart fundamentally from other developments in the area. With this, DL E&C aims to establish the district as a new benchmark in high-end urban living.

▣ Timeless Value Through Design Integrity: A High-End Vision Rooted in Essentials
In addition to enhancing residential value, DL E&C sought to ensure that ACRO Hannam would stand as a generational landmark—an enduring symbol of prestige rooted in architectural excellence. To achieve this, the company pushed its high-end brand philosophy further than ever before, aiming to deliver a development that elevates every facet of modern urban living.
At the core of this effort lies a design language deeply attuned to nature. By incorporating biophilic principles throughout the entire development, DL E&C has created a space where natural elements are not merely decorative, but integrated in ways that convey permanence, serenity, and symbolic resonance.
This vision materializes through a series of iconic design features, including the ACRO Garden House—the project's centerpiece and emotional anchor—along with the Botanic Step Terrace, Grand Golden Circle, Royal Arch Colonnade, Iconic Façade, and Vista Lighting. Each element has been designed not only for aesthetic impact but also to offer residents a daily connection to nature. The Garden House, in particular, is envisioned as an expansive indoor garden that brings real, living nature into the heart of the development—allowing residents to enjoy a resort-like experience without leaving home.

Pak Sang Shin, CEO of DL E&C, stated,
"We are bringing the full strength of DL E&C and the ACRO brand to maximize the value of Hannam District 5—an area with the best location and river views in Hannam New Town."
He emphasized that this was “not a proposal made for the sake of bidding, but the result of years of meticulous preparation.” Park added that the company aims to avoid the internal conflicts seen in other districts and move swiftly to deliver what will become Korea’s most distinguished high-end residential community.
As ACRO Hannam answers the question, ‘What defines true high-end living?’ through design, the industry now watches with interest to see how this project may help redraw Seoul’s map of wealth and luxury.
