As recognition of its bridge construction technological capabilities in Europe, the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge in Türkiye built by DL E&C’s Civil Engineering Biz Division was awarded the ECCS European Steel Bridge Award. Held by ECCS every two years, the award ceremony took place in Türkiye on September 22, and winners were decided by evaluating steel bridges completed with excellent technologies in Europe.

The bridge opened in March is 3,563m long and is a suspension bridge whose distance between bridge towers is the longest (2,023m) in the world. DL E&C and the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge won the award after besting some 20 competitors’ projects all across Europe. The judges awarded high scores to high stability against earthquakes and gales under harsh conditions.
